Expect the unexpected in this wry, somehow ridiculous but useful performance that challenges the safety zones of art and life.
Dates
6 — 9 March 2025
Venue
Arts House
Australian Premiere.
In Fire Drill Scenario, South Korean choreographer and artist Geumhyung Jeong investigates the excitement, and real-life risks that artists and audiences take when partaking in live performance experiences.
Theatres or any kind of exhibition spaces are loaded with different kinds of risks, as many people gather in a confined space. Geumhyung Jeong choreographs Arts House’s safety instructions with meticulous detail and dry wit.
After wowing Melbourne audiences with her stunning performance Oil Pressure Vibrator (RISING 2023), don’t miss this unique performer’s return to our stages.
Note: Fire Drill Scenario contains simulation of emergency evacuation, including moving inside and outside the venue. It contains the use of smoke effects, haze, high pitched frequencies, loud music, flashing and strobe lights, abrupt lighting changes, low lighting, lights that black out and change in colour and intensity.
