Water Song is a new work by Sunny Kim’s Ensemble Ochaye, whose dynamic exchange between cultures generates a music that celebrates diversity. Featuring some of Australia’s most adventurous musicians and performers, this unique collaboration blends storytelling, mythology, and deep cultural connections.
This captivating performance weaves multicultural narratives, portraying water as a conduit of connection and renewal. It invites audiences to partake in a collective ritual through the power of sound. Water Song blends Korean, Chinese, Iranian, and western instruments – including the guzheng, kamancheh, qeychak, clarinet and cello – creating a richly textured soundscape that transcends boundaries.
